BOSTON -- Rajon Rondo banked in a 3-pointer that broke a fourth-quarter tie. Discount Yeezy . Or so it seemed. Two minutes after the point guard apparently gave the Celtics a 93-90 lead with 4:37 remaining, officials reviewed the shot at the next stoppage in play. They ruled that Rondo released the ball after the 24-second buzzer and disallowed the basket. Boston never led again and the Indiana Pacers won 102-97 on Saturday night, their fourth straight victory. "I love instant replay!" Indiana coach Frank Vogel said with a smile. "Just a big fan, always have been, except for the couple of times it went against us." Boston coach Brad Stevens figured the basket would be taken away once officials took another look. "That doesnt change how were going to play," he said. "Were just going to try to win the next possession and build from there." Those three points were critical in a game between the team with the NBAs best record and one with the fourth-worst mark in the Eastern Conference. "It let the pressure off them," Bostons Jared Sullinger said. "They were playing frantic when the score was (93-90). Then they took away that 3. We kind of let it slip away." Paul George scored 10 of the Pacers last 12 points as they won two nights after beating another of the NBAs worst teams. On Thursday night, the Pacers won 101-96 over the Milwaukee Bucks, who have the leagues worst record. George led the Pacers with 25 points, Evan Turner came off the bench to score 17 and Lance Stephenson scored 16. Indiana won its fourth straight game and eighth in its last 11. "I missed too many easy shots (early) and I told myself when it comes back around that I have to make my shots," George said. "So I just locked in my focus and my teammates found me." Jeff Green had 27 points and Kris Humphries scored 18 as the Celtics lost for the sixth time in seven games. "We kind of got it going in the third (quarter)," Humphries said. "(It) kind of took our wind out of the sails when that 3 didnt count. (I) kind of wish theyd review it right away." Rondos shot was followed by two free throws and a reverse layup by George that put Indiana ahead 94-93. Then the reversal changed the score to 94-90 with 2:38 remaining. Sullingers two free throws made it 94-92 before Georges layup restored the Pacers four-point lead. Boston cut that to 96-94 on two free throws by Brandon Bass with 1:31 remaining, but George followed with a 3-pointer, making it 99-94. Indiana increased the lead to 102-94 on two free throws by Stephenson and one by George before Green finished the scoring with a three-point play. The Celtics scored nine of the last 11 points of the third quarter and took a 78-76 lead at the buzzer when Humphries dunked after rebounding a missed shot by Sullinger. Trailing 74-69, Humphries began the comeback with a 3-pointer on a layup and a free throw. Green and Humphries made jumpers, giving Boston a 76-74 lead with 3:28 left in the period. David West then tied the game with a foul-line jumper before Humphries quarter-ending dunk. Indiana used an eight-point run to take a 51-41 lead with three minutes left in the second quarter. Luis Scola started the surge with a 13-footer, Turner followed with two jumpers and Roy Hibbert hit two free throws. "Evan Turner gave us a big lift throughout the whole game," Vogel said, "but, in particular, down the stretch." The Pacers led 55-45 before Chris Johnsons 3-pointer cut the lead to 55-48 at halftime. The Celtics had a chance to draw closer, but Hibbert blocked Rondos shot with 29 seconds remaining. Yeezy China . Patrick Deslisle-Houde and David Rose each scored in the second to give the fourth-seeded Redmen a 3-1 lead after Jean-Philippe Mathieu scored in the first. Fielder has been out with a herniated disk in his neck, and surgery was recommended after a follow-up exam and another scan Thursday with Dr. HAMILTON, Ont. -- The Hamilton Bulldogs stressed the need for a strong start before Saturdays game, but the reality on the ice didnt go as planned. Instead, the Utica Comets scored twice in the first period and the Bulldogs never dug out of the early hole. Benn Ferriero scored twice and Joe Cannata made 32 saves as the Comets defeated the Bulldogs 3-1 in the American Hockey League on Saturday. "Our first point before the game was that we needed a good start," said Hamilton head coach Sylvain Lefebvre. "They scored two goals early in the first and then we found ourselves battling through adversity and trying to play catch-up. "We just didnt have it tonight. All-in-all, we just werent sharp and we couldnt make things work." Alexandre Grenier also scored for the Comets (12-20-5), who snapped a six-game losing streak with the victory. Comets leading scorer Pascal Pelletier had three assists to increase his point total to 11 in his past eight games. Maxime Macenauer scored the lone goal for the Bulldogs (19-15-4), while Dustin Tokarski stopped 31 shots. Sven Andrighetto had a chance to score for Hamilton three minutes into the game, but the Bulldogs winger could not get his stick on the cross-ice pass from linemate Martin St. Pierre. The Bulldogs had possibly their best scoring chance of the first period when Justin Courtnall sprung a short-handed rush with Greg Pateryn in the box for tripping. The wingers initial shot was stopped by Cannata, with Patrick Holland unsuccessfully jamming at the loose rebound. Utica opened the scoring with what looked like a harmless shot from Ferriero at 11:21. After waiting for a thick screen to develop in front of Tokarski, Peter Andersson released a slow, rising wrist shot that tipped off both Pelletier and Ferriero before beating the goaltender, who didnt see the puck until the last moment. The Comets doubled their advantage through an almost identical move on the power play at 13:42 when Henrik Tommernes fired a high slap shot that deflected off Grenier in front, and beat the goaltender ovver the blocking glove at the far post. Fake Yeezy. The Bulldogs cut into their deficit early in the second period, when Macenauer jumped out of the penalty box and victimized the Comets power-play unit with his fresh legs. The centre latched onto a loose puck in the Utica zone and sped past the Comets defenders before squeezing a low shot through Cannata for a short-handed goal at 2:07. "When I got the puck, my first thought was to try to get to the net on a breakaway," said Macenauer. "I realized that the defenceman was very close, and I thought that the five hole was open, so I went for that." Hamilton began to press for an equalizer midway through the second, and Mike Blunden saw a wrist shot clang off the near post with the Bulldogs on the power play with 11 and a half minutes to play in the period. Despite their pressure, the Bulldogs could not find a second goal before the periods end. Hamilton got off to a sluggish start in the third, and Tokarski had to be alert to keep his team within a goal. A scramble with nine and a half minutes to play nearly yielded the equalizer on a power play, but Hamilton came up short. The Bulldogs finished 0-5 with the man advantage. Lefebvre lamented his teams inability to sustain pressure after its power plays. "We had one good power play, and I hoped that it might give us some momentum, but we couldnt follow up with good shifts after that," he said. "We had three or four good scoring chances on that one, and a few flurries here and there, but nothing convincing." Ferriero put the game beyond doubt with 35 seconds to play, putting his second goal of the game into the empty net. Macenauer argued that he and his teammates will need to get back to basics if they want to return to the win column. "We have to keep things simple and get back to doing what we were doing when we were winning," he said. "Our forecheck is a strength of our team, and we have some fast guys here, so we need to simplify things and use those parts of our game." ' ' '
