"Brett was a Hall of Famer on ice, and hell be a Hall of Famer in this capacity as well," said Blues chairman Tom Stillman. Hull was acquired from Calgary late in the 1987-88 season and over the next 10-plus campaigns rewrote the franchise record books. He ranks at the top of the list for goals (527), hat tricks (27), game-winning goals (70), power-play goals (195) and shots on goal (3,367), and second in assists (409), points (936) and shorthanded goals (18). Hull also tallied three consecutive seasons of 70-or-more goals from 1989-92 and owns both the club mark for single-season tallies as well as the NHL record for right wingers with 86, accomplished in 1990-91, Following the end of a legendary 20-year NHL career during which he compiled 741 goals, the 49-year-old moved into management with the Dallas Stars in 2006, rising to the level of co-general manager with Les Jackson in November of 2007. He was eventually fired in 2009, replaced by former Dallas teammate Joe Nieuwendyk, but remained with the club as an advisor. Hull later worked as executive vice president and alternate governor. NEW ORLEANS -- Three games into his second season Anthony Davis is quickly establishing himself as the leader of the baby-faced New Orleans Pelicans. Davis had 25 points, eight rebounds, a career-high six blocks and five assists to lead New Orleans to a 105-84 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats on Saturday night, its first win changing its nickname to Pelicans. The No. 1 overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, Davis has scored at least 20 points in each of the Hornets first three games and has made 19 of 20 free throws. He punctuated his performance Saturday by diving into the scorers table to save a pass from going out of bounds and hustling back to score in transition.
